ROBERT'S
COMMENTS:
Yes I flagrantly ripped off the musical theme to "Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe" ;) It is actually based on a piece by Franz Liszt, but the Liszt piece was not nearly as spunky as the Flash-Gordonized version. This is a webcomic, it will update every Thursday but what you get on Thursday may vary widely. You may get one page or 3 or whatever. This is a space opera in the sense that it is about conflict in space, in an epic and maybe sometimes gonzo fashion. The most immediate inspiration is the Republic serials like Radar Men from the Moon or the 1940's serial Flash Gordon. It is different from most space operas though in that it is "semi-hard" SF. Hard SF means science fiction that is based on real space technology, whether current or envisioned in the future, but based on real physics. So for instance, that means no warp drive or light sabers. ;) I like hard SF but I also like space operas, so this is a compromise between the two worlds. ;) This intro (and possibly other animations in the series) requires the ADOBE FLASH PLAYER |
